How this place fits into a Crete day
Loggia combines traditional Cretan cooking with a family story carried through recipes and family produce. That makes it more than a practical food break in Rethymno. It suits travellers who have time for a proper Old Town meal far better than those looking for a quick pit stop.

More about this place
Loggia is a family-run taverna in Rethymno Old Town whose family story predates the marketing copy. Its own history reaches back to 1998 and connects recipes passed through generations with olive oil, vegetables, wine and raki from the family tradition.
That makes the meal interesting when Cretan food is meant to be more than “grab something quickly”. At roughly 75 to 120 minutes, lunch or dinner can slow down a culture or Old Town day on purpose. Rethymno will still be there afterwards, and probably the dessert too.
The Old Town setting means a short walk from the legally reachable street edge. Parking directly at the taverna is neither necessary nor promised. That suits the place rather well: leave the car outside, walk a few minutes through the lanes and then actually stay seated.
Loggia fits a day when traditional Cretan cooking and a family story are part of the experience. If the only goal is to fit calories efficiently between two sights, faster options exist. Here, the meal is allowed to influence the pace a little.
Before you set off
Getting there
Fotaki 6 is inside the historic Old Town. Plan to drive only to a legally reachable edge of the centre and walk the final minutes; no parking space directly at the taverna is assumed.
