Getting to Koufonisi (Lefki), Crete

Cretan Unique Cruises describes trips from Makry Gialos with swimming stops and return. This confirms neither a specific sailing date nor permission to land. Check availability, sea conditions, return and permitted visiting areas with the operator; do not plan on open access to archaeological sites.

More about this place

Koufonisi, also called Lefki, lies off southeast Crete. Pale rocks, sandy coves and ancient remains define the island. It is distinct from the Cycladic islands with the same name.

Cretan Unique Cruises describes a boat trip from Makry Gialos with swimming stops off the island and a return to the departure port. The operator must confirm whether it runs on your travel date. Another company ending its seasonal service says nothing about every connection.

A trip to the island does not establish permission to land. Confirm the areas you may actually visit before booking; archaeological sites are not recommended here as freely accessible. The map locates the island, not a landing place.
