How this place fits into a Crete day
Mikro Ammoudi is a tiny rocky cove between Damnoni and Ammoudi, with a short approach, clear deeper water and underwater terrain that appeals to snorkellers. Its limited sand can feel crowded and it is traditionally also popular with naturists. Arrive early or choose another cove for more space; this is not a vast all-day beach.

More about this place
Mikro Ammoudi is small enough to disappear on the map, which is exactly why the planning needs to stay honest. The cove sits behind a distinctive rock between Damnoni and Ammoudi. A very short path leads to white sand, deep clear water and a rocky underwater landscape that offers more than a photogenic shade of blue.
The cove is traditionally popular with naturists. In summer, umbrellas and sunbeds occupy much of the small strip of sand, so it can feel busy faster than its tucked-away setting suggests. If quiet matters, come earlier or outside peak season. If snorkelling is the priority, the seabed still gives the detour a strong reason to exist.
Its real advantage is low friction: Mikro Ammoudi works as a compact swim-and-snorkel stop in a Plakias day. You do not have to sacrifice half a holiday day to get something distinctive. Refreshingly unheroic — and sometimes exactly right.
Before you set off
Getting there
Use the paved access to Ammoudi or approach from the Damnoni side; from there it is only a short walk to the cove. No demanding hike is required. The beach has a long naturist tradition, so respect other visitors' space.
Parking
Parking is available around neighbouring Ammoudi; do not expect to park directly at the tiny cove itself.
